And here is one very easy trick for you: Feeling the card your audience picked.
Like in so many other tricks you let one member of your audience pick a card out of a normal deck. He memorizes it, you can’t see it. While he does that, you glance what card is at the bottom of the deck. You the tell the person to put the card back on top of the deck and cut the deck anywhere they want. If they have done that, you take the deck and pull one card after the other off the deck, saying “No, this is not your card.” till the point where you see the card that was the bottom of the deck at the beginning. By cutting the deck the audience placed this card over the picked card, so as soon as you see it, you know that the next card will be right one. Now tell them how this card feels so different and put up a little show. Take the card and make them awe.

Street Magic Tricks

Street magic tricks are just about the most popular magic tricks and usually the easiest to learn. Street magic is typically performed on the street, hence the name. Street magic tricks often involve coins, cards, or metalism. David Blaine has made this artform very popular with his television specials over the past years. Alot of street magic can be performed impromptu — with no set up or special gimmicks required. These types of tricks are especially effective in a street scene, because it eliminates the “hes got a trick coin” conclusion that some spectators like to jump to.

If you want to learn street magic tricks specifically, find the tag street magic on this site and you will find street magic type tricks. Although most of the magic tricks on this site are coin-related, there are some alternate tricks involving cards, rubber bands, and various other household/pocket items.

There are plenty of DVDs on street magic out there that do an excellent job of teaching everything from card tricks to levitations. We will most likely be adding a section to the site soon for strictly street magic product reviews. This new section will accompany the advanced coin tricks and beginner coin tricks sections of this site.

Vanishing Coin Trick

This vanishing coin trick is relatively easy to perform. The effect of this magic trick: You basically reveal a coin, then covering it with a napkin or handkerchief. You allow the viewers to reach under the handkerchief in order to prove that the coin is, in fact, still there. As soon as your audience decides that they are sure the coin is still there, you remove the handkerchief and reveal that the coin has mysteriously disappeared! Lastly, you reveal that the coin has traveled into your pocket! Fantastic magic trick!

Preparation:

You must have an assistant who is in on the trick. When everyone is touching the coin under the handkercheif, your selected assistant very discretely removes the coin from your hand. Obviously, you need to have placed another coin in your pocket. You can perform this magic trick my making it go into your wallet, or your assistants pocket.. You can think up a few I’m sure!

Recap:

Ok just to reiterate step by step, here is how you perform the disappearing coin trick.

1. Take out your chosen coin (a unique coin works best).

2. Cover the coin with a hanky.

3. Let the viewers feel for the coin (this is when your assistant takes it — LAST!).

4. Step back a bit and mutter some magical words!

5. Remove the hanky! Poof! It’s Gone! Magic!

6. Reveal the coin from your pocket or wallet etc.
